Year 4 have spent the morning at County Hall, Durham celebrating the success of one of our class! The competition was to design an illustration for a new Jet and Ben Stranger Danger book which has so far reached 10,000 publications! Not only did our deserved winner receive a framed certificate presented by the Chief of Durham Police, she also won a book token, sweets and an iPad for the school! A big well done! Once there was a young boy called James. James and his mum and dad lived in a small cottage and everything they owned was piled on top of each other because there was such little room. James didn't like his life for many reasons one being the fact that his family were very poor and couldn't afford to make better surroundings for the young boy. The only thing James did enjoy doing was going to visit his grandfather because he had a garden where he grew many different kinds of fruits and vegetables including strawberries. Emily is hard at work writing her own magical story - this is her opening so far, what do you think? |
