Take a look at the objects in the picture. They are all connected with the life of a miner in some way (either at home or at work). Can you name the items and tell me something about them?
Learning about mining and tommy armstrong has been very fun and nowing some equipment of these is cool. And also theres a pan shovel. There is also a poss that is also called a dolly to clean clothe, and the pan shovel is to gather up the coal that has been mined!

My goodness, some of these look very familiar, especially the clippy mat. My grandma used to make these for her neighbours and I remember helping her when I was young which was a long, long time ago!!!

Well done Georgia! You have not only remembered the object names but also what they were used for. Just remember to always read through your blog posts to correct any errors!

Well there is a :
Pan shovel
Clippy mat
Miners boot
Water bottle
Pickaxe
Iron
Dolly
Beater
Wash board.
And I have loved learning about the life of Tommy Armstrong also learning his songs he wrote back in history. But my favorite song is Oakies evictions. I have learned a fact while we were in the middle of a history lesson that world war one was during the life of Tommy. And the Titanic sunk.

Excellent Kate! You can name a lot of the items. Not only that I can tell that you have enjoyed the topic and gained a lot from it.
