Here we are working with our Talk Partners to complete addition and subtraction word problems.
Year Four have been busy designing posters to promote the need to stay safe on Bonfire Night. Take a look at our designs! Congratulations to Keira who brought the War of the Roses to life with Lego! A fantastic, creative piece of extra homework! Today we are working with a partner to make our own maths games. We are using our 6x table fact families as clues to help us move around the board. Your school needs you!
This Saturday (19th October), the Stanley Town Council are holding an event at the new North Durham Academy building from 9.45am - 2pm. Different groups (including our school) are applying for a grant from the Town Council. All you have to do is turn up and vote for 3 good causes - anyone over 5 from the Stanley area can take part, so bring the whole family along.... It should only take 15 minutes, but could make a big difference to our school community! Small amount of effort, big rewards..... Year Four have been busy painting portraits of King Henry VIII and his six wives. They've done a fantastic job! Well done everyone! After a range of fantastic speeches and an anonymous vote, Year 4 now have two new School Council Representatives. Congratulations! Homework this week is to use our spellings in a full sentence. Remember to include: ambitious vocabulary, connectives, openers and punctuation. Happy writing! We have been learning about the differences between rich and poor people in Tudor times. Have a look at the outfits we have had the opportunity to wear. Do you think this type of clothing was for the rich or the poor? This morning in Literacy we have been learning about The Life of William Shakespeare. We had 15 minutes to read and remember facts about his life. We then used this information to create a group poster. Which facts can you remember? |
